Northshore Yachting Services Pty Ltd trading as Melges Asia Pacific
has been working outside the square and has secured the rights to
build and market Melges Sports boats.
The Melges 24, designed by Reichel/Pugh, professionally engineered;
high-tech stance includes carbon fibre spars, rudder, bow sprit
and vertical keel fin. Another key component of the Melges 24 is
a 62.24 sq m asymmetrical spinnaker that lifts and pulls the boat
forward on a downwind sprint. It adds speed, simplicity and ease
of handling giving way to a more challenging tactical race.

That's built in performance!
This get up and go sports boat package has the ability to facilitate
trailering, hoist and ramp launching. With a retractable keel designed
specifically for travelling, it fits behind any vehicle on a custom,
galvanised steel Melges Performance Sailboats trailer with fibreglass
bunks.
The Melges 24 possesses an easy to rig personality requiring only
two sets of hands for a quick set up. Weighing in at a healthy 810kg
this streamlined baby is a pleasure to haul from your local
club to a World Championship
To date, over 670 boats are sailed competitively around the world.
Half of the entire fleet exists in the United States while the remaining
national classes are spread out over 18 European and Asian countries
proving that it demands an international audience.
The ultimate partnership has been formed between longstanding successful
Australian boat builders Northshore Yachts with over 750 yachts
to its name and Melges Boat Works. Making Northshore Yachting Services
Pty Ltd an accredited IYRU boat builder.

Shipwright and New Northshore Yachts Owner Heath Walters saw the
opportunity to reinvigorate the strong Australian brand name with
an international ones design established racing class.
Heath feels the Melges 24 and 32 will be welcomed by all Australian
Yachties. Easy and inexpensive storage, hassle free transporting
to regattas, crew of 4 combined with exhilarating one design racing
that can be pursued worldwide. There is nothing else like it in
Australia with international standing.
These sport boats are for everyone and will shine in Australian
conditions, making for adrenalin, fun filled racing.

The amount of interest generated in the Melges range by Australian
boat owners has been phenomenal. Heath recently visited the Melges
factory in Zenda, USA to ensure all Australian
built Melges 24's follow the strict one design specifications.
The options available mean owners can mount a polished, professional
campaign in an ISAF One Design World Class Sport boat for considerably
less than other classes.
The Melges 32's are shipped from the USA.
Building slots are available for the Melges 24's.
Melges are ideal for
