2013 Gateway Melges 24 Spring Regatta, May 3-5

28 March 2013

From Tom Wyman – Things will be a little different for the Gateway regatta this year…in a good way. We have an exceedingly generous sponsor this year, and the regatta will be FREE for the first twelve registered traveling boats. That is, the regatta fee, happy hours, sat crew dinner, sat/sun crew lunches – are all sponsored. All you need to do is register, get your team and your boat here, and pay for accommodations.

We invite all Melges 24 teams to the fifth annual Gateway Melges 24 Spring regatta May 3-5, 2013. This is the first event of the Midwest Series this year. We would like to welcome back those of you that have sailed the regatta before, and encourage those of you who have not experienced Gateway hospitality to come on over!

Carlyle Sailing Association is the host club, and sailing will be on the beautiful waters of Carlyle Lake in central Illinois. If you haven’t been to Carlyle and CSA before, it is worth the trip. The club has easy logistics, three hoists, dry sail both days, and the sailing area is right off the docks. Early May is spring so expect a variety of sailing conditions. Local Midwest Fleet Zero has eight boats and all will be on the line.
