2014 Audi Sailing Series Announced

Two months and a half have gone by since the conclusion of the Melges 32 World Championship in Porto Rotondo, where the American team of Argo (Carroll-Appleton) was crowned as the undiscussed leader. At the moment the staff of B.Plan Sport&Events (BPSE) – sports marketing and events company is shaping up a new and exciting sailing season.
For the coming year, the Audi Sailing Series will be featuring amazing Melges 32 and Audi Melges 20 challenges.
On the back of a strong and winning format and the renewed partnership with a prestigious brand as the Audi can be, long-standing committed to the sailing world, BPSE agency will be also cooperating in the organisation of the Melges Europe racing circuits where dates have already been decided and is about to finalize the last agreements with some hosting yacht clubs.
Our aim is to let sailors race as usual in some of the most renowned racing fields of the Italian peninsula.
Five stages for every circuit, throughout a season that will be launched by the Audi Melges 20 fleet on the first weekend of April. Races will be following on 10-11th May, 31st – 1st June, 12-13th July and 25-30th August, the latter will see the Class World Championship with a foreseen fleet staging up at least 50 teams.
The Melges 32 fleet is expected to share with the Audi Melges 20 the first four locations, crossing the start line a week after the smallest among the monohull boats produced by the Melges Performance Sailboats.
First act will be running 11-13th April followed by the second weekend of May 16-18th, then 6-8th June, 17-20th July and 3-5th October for a season finale absolutely innovative.
